The city of Fresno sits comfortably at the junction of Highways 41 and 99. Highway 99 branches east from Interstate 5, connecting most urban centers in the valley. It is the major air transportation center for the entire valley. It offers regularly scheduled commercial airline services. The other two airports are the Fresno Chandler Executive Airport and Sierra Sky Park Airport.

The city experiences very hot summers and relatively mild winters. July temperatures average 35.9C (98.6F) while December temperatures are around 2.8C (37F). Average annual rainfall is 11.23 inches, concentrated in the spring and winter seasons.
